Now in its 8th year, MacKids Walk & Wheel has become an annual tradition for patients, families and supporters of McMaster Children’s Hospital and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre.
On June 1, join us and celebrate with more than 800 patients, health care providers and community members as we raise funds to improve the health care experience for our MacKids.
Event Details
Where: Bayfront Park, 200 Harbour Front Drive, Hamilton
When: Saturday, June 1; 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Registration Fee: A registration fee of $25 is required for those aged 18 and over. There is no fee for those aged 17 years and under.
Event Day Schedule:
- 9:00 a.m. Registration Open
- 9:35 a.m. Opening Ceremony
- 10:00 a.m. Lil’ Tikes on Trikes
- 10:20 a.m. Wonders on Wheels
- 11:00 a.m. Trailblazer Family Walk/Miraclefest Opens (includes Lunch)

- 2:00 p.m. Event ends

Ways to Participate
Lil’ Tikes on Trikes Bike Ride (Ages 2 – 5)
This ride is geared towards children on tricycles and training wheels. Route is approximately 350 metres. Parents or guardians must accompany their children at all times.
Wonders on Wheels Bike Ride (Ages 6 - 10)
This ride is for children who have mastered two wheels and can navigate a path without assistance. Route is approximately 1.5 km. Parents or guardians must accompany their children at all times.
Trailblazers Family Walk (All Ages)
Children and adults of all ages are invited to participate in the family walk. Route is approximately 4 km along Hamilton's waterfront.
Miraclefest
Stay for Miraclefest! Every registrant will also receive FREE access to Miraclefest, featuring lunch, inflatable bouncers, photo booth, Teddy Bear Hospital and much more!
Please Note:
All registrants participating in a ride must wear a helmet. Prior to the bike rides, there will be a helmet and bike safety clinic for children and guardians. Participants in wheelchairs are welcome to register in any category. Parents and guardians must accompany their children in either ride.
Fundraising
All participants are encouraged to fundraise. Once registered you’ll have access to a personalized participant centre where you can send emails to request support, view your progress and sent thank you emails. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers (see below for details and regulations).

Event Waiver
All attendees at MacKids Walk & Wheel agree to the Event Waiver. You are not required to submit this separately. You’ll will be asked to agree to terms while completing the online registration.
