About

Now in its 3rd year, Illuminight aims to bring together all members of the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre community for “a walk to shine a light on cancer” in an effort to raise funds for the Cancer Program.

For 2020, Illuminight is reimagined as a virtual event, inviting supporters to take part in a twilight walk in their own communities and with their own social bubbles.

While we encourage participants to walk on October 2, this is a virtual event and you can plan your llluminight walk for any evening until October 12 at your leisure. We hope you will share photos from your walk on social media by using #illuminightwalk

Quick Facts

When: Friday, October 2 (or anytime at your leisure before October 12)

Where: Your own community

What: Participants take part in a twilight walk in their own communities and with their own “social bubbles.” Participants are encouraged to light their walks in creative ways.

What else: Participants are asked to decorate, display and share on social media, a pumpkin for the entire month of October. Pumpkins can be carved, painted or uniquely decorated to honour a cancer patient or to symbolize their inspiration for supporting Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
