Welcome to Kate Gottli's fundraising page!
In December 2010, my (then) 29-year-old brother Tim was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital after suffering severe burns in an apartment fire. He spent several months in the Burn Trauma Unit (BTU) receiving 24/7 constant care and underwent several skin grafting surgeries. The Team at the Hamilton General Hospital undeniably saved Tim's life and I will be forever grateful for this.
In August 2018, my Mother (Kelly) was rushed to the General with a grim diagnosis and discovery of several blood clots in her lungs. The ICU Team made several quick decisions that kept her alive and then performed emergency surgery with brand new state-of-the-art equipment. Mom was at the General for several weeks, making a recovery that would not have been possible without the phenomenal Cardiac and Vascular ICU Team. Our family was incredibly lucky once again.
I'm participating in the Strides for the General because I know firsthand how equipment and patient care can impact the lives of those in our families and communities. It would mean a lot to me if you could donate any amount you are able. Your donation will help families in the future through events like my family experienced in the past.
